Our Curve Young Community Company (CYCC) is for young people aged 5 – 19 years with an interest and passion for performing arts.

What is CYCC?

CYCC runs weekly alongside Leicestershire term times, with classes based at Curve or one of our offsite spaces. There are CYCC Kids classes for young people who are Primary school aged and CYCC classes in Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre and Technical for Secondary aged students.

CYCC members meet regularly at Curve to develop their skills, have fun, make new friends, and learn about the theatre industry alongside professional artists and creative teams. Participants also have the opportunity to perform on our stages in productions and to get involved in special events at Curve and as part of our Made at Curve productions.

Who can join and what does it cost?

CYCC classes are open to all and there are opportunities for every level of experience. The classes require a termly fee to be paid, but we also have 50% and 100% bursaries for over 25% of our places. Fees are set each year and vary depending on the length of the class and number of practitioners.

When do applications open?

Auditions for Secondary school aged classes in Dance, Acting and Musical Theatre take place in the summer, there are no auditions for Technical or Kids. The classes run like the school year, starting in September.

Whilst we have a set application period, there may still be opportunities to join throughout the year, particularly for our CYCC Kids sessions.
