An infra-red and induction loop hearing system is available at all performances in our Theatre and Studio Theatre for anyone who is hard of hearing, enabling them to amplify and adjust the volume of the performance to a suitable level. 

Sennheiser Stethoset Receivers

As the name suggests, this receiver is worn like a stethoscope and placed directly in the user’s ears, with the Sennheiser logo and volume dial facing away from the body. Both the volume and balance can be adjusted by the wearer throughout the performance.

Sennheiser Neck Loop Receivers

Neck loop receivers are similar to stethoset receivers, but are instead worn around the neck like a lanyard or necklace. They can be used with most T-Loop compatible hearing aids, or with in-ear earphones or headphones that have a standard aux connection. As before, the Sennheiser logo and volume dial should be facing away from the body, and the user can adjust the volume and balance to suit their personal preferences.

To support your application, we politely ask you to provide a photocopy of one of the documents listed below by email at access@curvetheatre.co.uk. The document you choose to submit should ideally be the most recent copy, dated within the last 18 months:

• Attendance Allowance Letter
• Disability Living Allowance Letter
• Disabled Students Allowance Letter
• Personal Independence Payment Letter

This list is subject to change, and Curve reserves the right to refuse concessionary tickets where it deems necessary. All seating and accessibility requirements are subject to availability.

All of our public spaces are accessible to wheelchair users, with lift access to the Circle level. We have allocated wheelchair spaces for every performance, both in the Theatre and Studio Theatre. If you wish to transfer to a theatre seat, we can store your wheelchair during the performance.

Assistance dog spaces are available upon request; please let us know during the booking process and a seat next to the aisle will be reserved for you. Alternatively, a member of our Visitor Experience Team can care for your dog during the performance.

Accessible parking is available in various car parks around the city; please visit our Getting to Us page for accessible parking options near Curve.

We also have a drop-off point on Rutland Street.

Booster seats are available in all performance spaces, and can be collected at the door stated on your ticket once the house is open.

Pushchairs and prams and Assisted Walking equipment can be stored in our designated Buggy Parks during the performance. For performances in the Theatre or Studio Theatre, the Buggy Park can be found opposite Studio Theatre Door 5, on the glass side of the building. For performances in Rehearsal Room 2, a Buggy Park will be set up on the Mezzanine, accessible via the Public Lift next to Theatre Door 3.

• If you’d like to share your visit to Curve with a Buddy, please do let our Box Office team know when you make your booking. The best way to do this is by calling 0116 242 3595, emailing access@curvetheatre.co.uk, or by coming into Curve to speak to us in person and we will be happy to assist you.
• Buddy requests should be with us at least two weeks prior to the performance or event, so we can let your Buddy know to be ready.
• If there are any specific adjustments that will make your visit more comfortable, please detail these when requesting a Buddy, so we can ensure you have everything you need before your visit.
• Once paired with a Buddy, you will pay for your ticket and your Buddy’s ticket will be covered by Curve and you will then meet your Buddy at Curve ahead of the show.

• Your Buddy will meet you at Curve when you arrive and assist you with picking up your ticket if you haven’t already and find your seats together. 

• You will both then watch the show, and your Buddy will ensure you leave Curve safely after the performance. 

• Where there is an interval, your Buddy can help you locate refreshments, toilets and merchandise. 

• Your Buddy will not be able to assist you once in the toilet or be responsible for assisting you beyond the theatre, handling your money or paying for anything. They are there to help you enjoy your visit to Curve and to share the experience with you!
